This refined Tabriz masterpiece belongs to the artistic school of Mohammad Ali Gharabaghi, renowned for transforming classical Persian ornamentation into vibrant compositions rich in color and movement. At its heart lies a radiant multi-layered medallion, from which a harmonious network of boteh motifs, blossoms, and delicately intertwined foliage unfolds across the field. Graceful floral vines flow effortlessly over the ivory ground, creating a remarkable sense of depth and vitality. Shades of turquoise, coral pink, burgundy, and soft violet blend beautifully against the luminous ivory backdrop, evoking the atmosphere of a flourishing Persian garden. Framed by an elaborate border filled with intricate floral ornamentation, the composition achieves a perfect balance between elegance and grandeur, reflecting the exceptional design and craftsmanship associated with the finest Tabriz carpets.

Mohammad Ali Gharabaghi is widely regarded as one of the leading carpet designers and producers of Tabriz in the modern era. Born in Tabriz in 1943, he grew up in an artistic environment closely connected to the Persian carpet tradition and began learning the craft at an early age before establishing his independent career in the 1960s. He became known for preserving a distinctive artistic identity and for personally developing and producing his own designsrather than selling them to other workshops. Throughout his career, he played an important role in educating younger generations of designers while safeguarding the heritage of the Tabriz school and enriching it with a more contemporary approach to color and composition. As a result, the name “Gharabaghi” has come to represent not merely an individual master, but a design school and artistic legacy in its own right within the world of Persian carpets.
